Terms of use
Effective [to fill in: the date this takes effect].
These are the terms on which Docket is offered. Docket is operated by [to fill in: who operates Docket, a name or a company], called “the operator” below. By signing in, by subscribing, or by using an API key, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Docket.
What Docket is
Docket is a task board for coding agents. It has three parts:
- the app at
app.usedocket.dev, which holds your board; - the adapter,
@usedocket/mcp, which runs on your machine and lets your coding agent reach the board. Its code is published under the MIT license, and that license, not these terms, covers the code; - this site and its docs.
Your account and your keys
You sign in with GitHub. You are responsible for what is done with your account and with your API keys, including what a coding agent does with a key you gave it.
Keep your keys secret. If one may have been seen by someone else, delete it: it stops working at once.
Plans and paying
Docket is a paid service. Payment is taken by Stripe, on Stripe’s own pages; the privacy policy says what each of Stripe and Docket holds.
Plans and prices
- Starter costs 6 USD a month, or 49 USD a year.
- Pro costs 12 USD a month, or 99 USD a year.
- Scale is for accounts that need more than Pro, at a price agreed in writing with the operator.
Prices are in US dollars and do not include tax. Where tax is due, it is added at checkout, according to where you are.
Each plan has ceilings on use: calls and log entries a day, cards, and projects in use. They are shown on the Billing page. A request over a ceiling is refused, never charged.
The free trial
Starter and Pro begin with a free trial of 7 days. You give a card when the trial starts, and nothing is charged until it ends: the first payment is taken then, unless you cancel before. An account has one trial.
Renewing and canceling
A subscription renews every month or every year, as you chose, and is charged each time it renews, until you cancel it. Cancel on the Billing page at any time. Docket keeps working until the end of the period you have paid for, and then stops.
Changing plan
Moving to a smaller plan takes effect at the end of the current period, and deletes nothing. An account that is over the smaller plan’s ceilings then cannot add more until it is under them. Moving to a bigger plan takes effect at once, and the difference for the rest of the period is charged then.
A payment that fails
Stripe tries the payment again over the following days, and Docket keeps working meanwhile. If it still fails, the subscription ends.
An account that is not paid for
An account whose trial or subscription has ended cannot use the board or the API. Its data is kept, as it was, until the account is deleted: paying again brings it all back, and you can download it or delete it from the Account page at any time.
Price changes
A subscriber keeps the price they have until the operator moves them to a new one. You are told at least 30 days before you renew at a new price, by email to the address you gave at checkout, and you can cancel before then.
Refunds
Payments are not refunded, and a period you have started earns no credit for the part you did not use. That includes deleting your account part way through a period: the subscription ends at once, and nothing more is charged.
Two things stand whatever this says:
- A charge made in error is put right. Write to the address at the end of this page.
- Your rights under the law. Docket comes with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. If it fails to meet one, you may be entitled to a remedy, which can include a refund. Where you live, the law may give you other rights, such as to cancel within a set time, and nothing in these terms takes them away.
Your content stays yours
Your cards, notes and reports are yours. You allow Docket to store them, to show them back to you and to your coding agents, and to use them to train and improve models, as the privacy policy describes. Docket does not own them and claims nothing else in them.
You are responsible for what you and your agents put on your board, and for having the right to put it there. Keep secrets, and other people’s personal details, out of cards: Docket stores what it is given as written.
What you may not do
- Use Docket to break the law, or put on it anything you have no right to share.
- Try to reach another account’s data, or to get around what keeps accounts apart.
- Get around the limits on requests, or load the service in a way meant to slow it or stop it for others.
- Use someone else’s account or key without their permission.
- Test Docket for weaknesses without asking first. If you find one, write to the address at the end of this page.
An early service, offered as it is
Docket is new, and it will change. Parts of it may stop working, be changed, or be removed, and it may at times be unavailable.
It is offered as it is, with no warranty beyond the guarantees the law gives that cannot be excluded (see Refunds). Your code is never on Docket, but your cards are: keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Your coding agent is yours. It decides what to do with a card, and what it does on your machine and in your repository is your responsibility.
As far as the law allows, the operator is not liable for loss that comes from using Docket, or from being unable to use it: lost data, lost work, or what a coding agent did while working from a card.
Ending
You can stop at any time. Account → Delete account removes your account and everything in it, and ends any subscription at once. The privacy policy says what remains in backup copies.
The operator may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that puts the service or other people at risk, and may stop offering Docket altogether. If Docket is to stop, that is posted on this site first, so that you have time to copy out what you need, and every subscription ends with nothing more charged.
Changes to these terms
These terms can change. The new terms are posted on this page, with the date they take effect, before that date. If you keep using Docket after it, you accept them. If you do not accept them, delete your account.
